I first built my original web site in September 2000 and since that day I have never changed from the original principles that I set out with. I wanted to have a free site, open to all. I wanted a place where I was free to express myself and where others could come to enjoy my pictures, let me know what they thought and get personal replies to their email. All these things I still manage to do. The only change has been the reality sinking in of the financial costs of running a web site like this.
A vast amount of both my time and hubby's time are spent emailing, uploading, downloading pictures from cameras, thumbnailing, designing and also maintaining all you see around you. What started as a fun hobby for me became a full time occupation. I also noticed a significant number of emails asking for theme and location requests, slightly more intimate photographs and expressing curiosity about what happens in the gaps in the picture sets you see and afterwards too! Some even offered donations!
Taking all these factors into account the"Chosen Few" was born. In return for a one off donation (£40 or $70) although some have donated a lot more;-) I offer unrestricted access to my site and you get the chance to be one of a small group that get to see the bits of me that others do not.
