Lynnn writes...

Lynnn, April 4th - Greymare's Tail!!

Sir Walter Scott on his travels wrote about the Greymare's Tail ...

Where deep deep down, and far within, toils with the rocks the roaring linn;
Then issuing forth one foamy wave, and wheeling round the giant's grave
White as the snowy charger's tail drives down the pass of Moffatdale

He spelt my name wrong :-( but other than that an atmospheric and beautiful piece of prose to go with a very atmospheric and beautiful place...

After leaving Moffat we headed once again for a glimpse of sunshine between the clouds - and ended up at the Greymare's Tail. This is a fantastic 300ft natural waterfall and one of the most popular tourist attractions in this part of the world. Well worth the walk (but not in these heels) The few people there this day seemed not to notice me at all. Soaked in Moffat and upstaged by a waterfall in the afternoon!!! - whatever next?
